Who hangs the most stuff on their pedal steel?

Post by Jack Hanson »

Tuners? Effects pedals? Control boxes? Bar & pick holders? Sheet music stands? Microphones?
iPhones? iPads? iPods? iPuds?
A kitchen sink?

Who regularly dangles the most stuff from the superstructure of their pedal steel when they play?
Photos encouraged.

My humble submission:

Oh, and I hang my Crown Royal pixenbar bag from the keyhead. When I play St. Patty's, I attach a Tullamore Dew bar towel to the front apron.

When I was first learning to play, about 6 years ago, I hung a rubber chicken from my steel. I clamped a splash cymbal to the leg & hung a pair of big girl panties with our band logo from the front. It was a little slapstick, but I was entertained.
I always hang my mic stand from my steel leg. I have the most compact mic stand there is. It fits in with my legs/rods/pedal rack.
Thanks, Dave

It's hard to tell from that pic.
My mic stand attaches to the leg of my guitar, muck like the way I see people mounting a Peterson tuner to the leg of their guitar.
Thanks, Dave

I try to hang everything on my guitar. For me, it's the obvious place. I started in the 80s with a leather pouch to hold my pics and bar. Then came the Steeldriver, from Goodrich, attached to my right leg. I then fashioned a drink holder out of an adjustable hose clamp and an aluminum right angle. When I was able to clip the TONEX One to the right leg, I thought I was done, but I found I could clip the SpaceDust as well.

I used to have a bar holder on my steel for my Ezzee Slide polymer bar, and it worked for a little while, but then it started coming loose and falling off the side of my steel, so after three or four times of it coming loose, I decided to put both my picks and bar between the pad and the neck of my steel. When the holder would come loose, my bar was inside it, but didn't hurt it-I worried that it would hurt the bar, but it didn't hurt anything.
